Site work, paving and renovation of a mixed-use development in Garden Grove, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility; for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
J.L. Cobb Painting & Construction has been awarded the GGUSD Multi-Site Modular Project. The Modular Classroom Project consists of purchasing portables, prepping sites for placement of portables, installation, running new electrical to the units and tying into existing power supplies, and installation of fire alarm devices and the connection of these devices to the existing fire alarm panel Category License Low Voltage SystemsC-7 Electrical C-10 Concrete/Asphalt A, C-8, C-12 This project must conform to the revisions to California Education Code Section 17407.5 (mandated by AB566 and SB693), and Public Contract Code Section 2601 (as amended by SB418). As such, all J.L. Cobb subcontractors, and their subcontractors at every tier, are required to provide a completely Skilled and Trained Workforce A Skilled and Trained Workforce is defined as: Apprentice workers currently enrolled in a DAS approved apprenticeship program. All journeypersons either: (a) Having graduated from a DAS approved apprenticeship program; or (b) Can demonstrate hours of on-the-job experience equivalent to the applicable apprenticeship program. Per PCC 20111.6, bidders that must be pre-qualified by the Owner include the LEASE-LEASEBACK CONTRACTOR, and if utilized, all 1st tier subcontractors holding the following license classifications: C-4, C-7, C-10, C-16, C-20, C-34, C-36, C-38, C-42, C-43, and C-46. Final date for all subcontractors to be pre-qualified for Lease-Leaseback projects is February 22nd . Electrical scope: Provide labor and material for power to the new portable classrooms including low voltage pathways. Fire Alarm scope: Provide labor and material for installation of all new fire alarm and voice devices as called out in the plans, utilize pathways provided by the electrical contractor to connect the devices to the existing site fire alarm panel. (Contractor is to be Silent Knight certified). Concrete/Asphalt scope: Grub grass, grade, and compact footprint of the new portable location. Pave approximately a 30 x40 pad with 2 asphalt including redwood header. Prep, form, and pour 4 concrete walkways as required to connect new portable location to existing walkways.
