A timeline for award has not yet been established. Grass Island Wastewater Treatment Plant Primary Settling Tanks and Miscellaneous Improvements Project no. 20-7090 Contract no. 7090 1. Primary Settling Tanks Modifications a. Perform miscellaneous demolition work. b. Remove Primary Settling Tank Nos. 1 thru 5 longitudinal collectors, drives and associated components including motor starters in MCC. c. Remove Primary Settling Tank Nos. 1 thru 5 screw conveyor cross collectors, drives and associated components including motor starters in MCC. d. Provide new Primary Settling Tank Nos. 1 thru 5 longitudinal collectors, drives and associated components including vendor control panels. e. Provide new Primary Settling Tank Nos. 1 thru 5 screw conveyor cross collectors, drives and associated components including motor starters in MCC. f. Perform miscellaneous structural repairs in and around Primary Settling Tank Nos. 1 thru 5. g. Paint Primary Settling Tank Nos. 1 thru 5 with protective epoxy coating. h. Integrate system controls with new plant SCADA system. i. Provide electrical power and control and instrumentation equipment, conduits and cable for interconnecting of power and controls. j. Replace existing stairway, located between Influent Distribution Chamber 1A & 1B, with new concrete platform. k. Construct new bypass chamber to the south of Influent Distribution Chamber 1A. Provide 48" diameter opening between existing wall and new chamber. Steps, grating, and other structural elements should be added to access the walkway of the Primary Settling Tanks. l. Extend and modify existing 48" diameter plant influent line to discharge into new bypass chamber along with Influent Distribution Chamber 1B. m. Install (3) Slide Gates to the distribution chambers and bypass chamber. n. Reroute existing 16" sludge overflow line discharging into Influent Distribution Chamber 1B to avoid conflict with new 48" plant influent line. o. Relocate section of existing 4" Mixing Air header to avoid conflict with the new bypass chamber. p. Replace all 4" air supply drop legs, supports, diffusers, butterfly valves, and all other associated components within Influent Distribution Chambers 1A and 1B. q. Replace effluent weirs. r. Reroute section of existing 8" primary scum line to avoid conflict with new bypass chamber and new 48-inch bypass piping. s. Replace section of existing 4" and 6" Mixing Air site piping. t. Provide new access hatch over existing scum well. Inspect existing scum well and provide recommendations for repair and rehabilitation. 2. Primary Sludge and Scum Pumps Modifications a. Perform miscellaneous demolition work. b. Remove Primary Sludge Pump Nos. 1 thru 5 and motors and associated components including motor starters in MCC. c. Provide new Primary Sludge Pump Nos. 1 thru 5 and motors and associated components including motor starters in MCC. d. Remove Primary Scum Pump and motor, grinder, and associated components including motor starter in MCC. e. Provide new Primary Scum Pump and motor, grinder, and associated components including motor starter in MCC. f. Remove Primary Sludge and Scum Pump suction and discharge piping, valves and associated components. g. Provide new Primary Sludge and Scum Pump suction and discharge piping, valves and associated components. h. Remove Primary Sludge Pump control panel. i. Provide new Primary Sludge and Scum Pump PLC based control panel. j. Paint all new Primary Sludge and Scum Pump suction and discharge piping, valves and associated components. k. Integrate system controls with new plant SCADA system. l. Provide electrical power and control and instrumentation equipment, conduits and cable for interconnecting of power and controls. 3. Headworks Building Transfer Switch Replacement a. Replace both transfer switches located within the distribution switchgear. b. Prepare MOPO for circuit breaker installation. 4. Miscellaneous a. Prepare detailed Maintenance of Plant Operations Plan that describes the proposed means and methods to perform the Primary Settling Tanks and Primary Sludge and Scum Pumps modifications. b. Replace drainage piping located above the area where the Primary Sludge and Scum Pumps are located. c. Perform miscellaneous concrete repair work to the ceiling above the area where the Primary Sludge and Scum Pumps are located. The foregoing is a general outline of Work only and shall not be construed as a complete description of Work to be performed under the contract. A Bid Bond for 5% of the bid amount must accompany each bid. Bidders may be required to submit data covering financial resources, equipment and ability to perform the work rapidly and in a satisfactory manner. The right is expressly reserved to reject any or all bids, to waive any informalities in the bids, or to accept such bids as appear to be in the best interest of the Town.
