To keep up with development, a new Fire Station 310 (FS310) is proposed to be designed and built on land near Deer Valley Rd. and Grand Avenue adjacent to the North Copper Canyon development. FS310 will be approximately 16,000 sq ft and will consist of four parking bays. The station will initially house a fire apparatus and will have the capability to accommodate an ambulance. FS310 will also be able to store a brush truck in the future. This project will require the purchase of furniture, fixtures, equipment, off-site infrastructure improvements, and the facility design and permitting activities. Upon completion of construction, the City of Surprise will staff FS310 with 3 captains, 3 engineers, and 9 firefighters. In addition to the sworn staff, this station will require adding 1 administrative support staff member in Fire Administration. This position will help the department manage all the support functions associated with the expansion. The project is include in the City of Surprise's 2025-2029 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of January 6, 2025, information regarding a design firm and the general contractor selection timeline has not been disclosed.
