The cut-off date for questions and answers is 4:00pm on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 Bidder must comply with the following: Include with the submitted bid, a ten (10%) percent ORIGINAL BID BOND WITH RAISED SEAL referencing the current project or bid number or a certified check made payable to the City of Bridgeport with its bid submission if the bid is $50,000.00 or more, except for bids from MBE's, for which a bid bond is required on bids that are $100,000 or more. The successful bidder, prior to permission to proceed, will be required to post a payment bond of 100% of the contract price if the contract price is in excess of $100,000, and a performance bond, for 100% of the contract price, if the bid is $50,000.00, or more except that performance bonds from MBE's will only be required on projects that are $100,000.00 or more. THE MBE CERTIFICATION SHALL BE SUBMITTED AT THE TIME OF BID OR NO EXEMPTION FROM THE BID BOND REQUIREMENT SHALL BE PERMITTED. Certificates of Insurance will be required from the awarded contractor prior to the commencement of any work and shall be furnished to the Department of Public Purchases, Margaret E. Morton Government Center, Second Floor, 999 Broad Street, Bridgeport, Connecticut 06604 and must be shown as issued to the City of Bridgeport as additional insured with thirty (30) day notice for cancellation or non-renewal of policy. A copy of the endorsement insurance will also be required for this project. 1. Description and Location of Work: All work is to take place at Fire Station #7, located at 245 Ocean Terrace, Bridgeport, CT 06604. The Base Bid Scope will include: 1. Existing electrical service consists of a 600A, 240V, 3-Wire Utility Service, fed underground from utility pole installed opposite Osborn St. 2. A new electrical service shall be provided, 600A, 208/120V, 4-Wire, from local utility. Service shall originate overhead on the opposite side of Ocean Terrace, and transition to underground through fire station property. 3. The new service shall be active with temporary panel installed to provide ability to transition from existing service to new service, while maintaining power to critical loads and ensuring fire station operations 24/7. 4. A temporary generator may be provided with temporary panel, in lieu of new service being active, based on utility requirements or contractor means/methods. 5. The scope of work includes a complete lighting and lighting controls upgrade, with existing equipment to be replaced with LED luminaires and digital lighting controls. 6. Ceiling work includes replacement of existing grid/tile throughout the building with the exception of one main corridor which is in good condition. 7. Support work includes providing new appurtenances/temporary supports for ceiling mounted equipment, to disconnect, remove, and provide new lay-in tile ceilings. The undersigned Bidder proposes and agrees hereby to commence the Work of the Contract Documents on a date specified in a written Notice to Proceed to be issued by Owner, and shall fully complete the Work within 90 calendar days.
