Summary The Town of Nantucket, through its Town Administration, invites qualified bidders to submit bids for Town-Wide Line Painting: Roadway, Crosswalk, Sharrows, and Stop Bar Markings. 1.2. Background The Town of Nantucket is located 30 miles off the south coast of Cape Cod. It was settled in 1659 and incorporated in 1671. The Town has an annual year-round population of over 14,000 and approximately 60,000 seasonal residents. The island is 14 miles in length and 3 1/2 miles wide. The Town of Nantucket is within the County of Nantucket. It operates an operated skilled nursing facility, an extensive Public School System and other municipal operations. The Town functions under a Town Manager/Select Board form of government. The Select Board operates under a Charter and enacts policies intended to promote and enhance the general welfare of the Town. SCOPE OF SERVICES The Work under this Contract consists of Town-wide Roadway, Crosswalks, and Stop Line Painting as described herein to the Town of Nantucket through an Agreement with the Town of Nantucket. All Work done under this Contract shall be in conformance with the 1988 Massachusetts Highway Department (MassDOT) Standard Specifications for Highways and Bridges, the Supplemental Specifications, the 2005 Standard Special Provisions, the 2010 Construction Standard Details, and the 2009 Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, all as amended, and these Special Provisions. The General Conditions and Special Provisions shall take precedence over the General Requirements of the Standard Specifications. The signed Tax Compliance Certification must be included with the bid response. The signed Certificate of Non-Collusion must be submitted with the bid response. The bid must be submitted by the authorized individual(s). Bidders must submit a bid deposit of five percent (5%) of the amount of the base bid. Bid deposit may be in the form of a certified check; a bank, treasurers or cashier's check; or a bid bond from a surety company.
