The City of Santa Clara ("City") is soliciting proposals from qualified firms (hereinafter "Proposer") to provide fire suppression, alarm, and gas detection preventive maintenance, inspection, and testing services for Silicon Valley Electric, the Electric Utility of the City of Santa Clara (hereinafter "City" or "SVP"). SVP facilities and substations are equipped with fire alarms, smoke detectors, fire suppression detectors, and extinguishers. The manufacturers of these systems include Altronix Corp., Amerex, Ansul, Badger, Chemetron, Det-Tronics, General Motors, Honeywell Silent Knight, Multitel, Notifier, Silent Knight, Viking, and others. The location, manufacturers' names, and required frequency of inspections are detailed in Attachment A1. Bidder must possess a valid State of California Contractor's License Class C-10 Electrical and a C-16 Fire Protection. License must be in either the bidder's or principal's name. Bidder shall include a copy of their valid license with their submitted bid. Question Deadline 04/12/2024 at 4:00 PM PT Questions pertaining to this RFP should be submitted via electronically. The City will provide a written response to all pertinent questions in the form of an Addendum. The initial term of the agreement will be (5) five years. The City reserves the right to exercise up to (1) one additional one-year options, for a total of (6) six years.
