Per the owner, as of March 26, 2025, a design team has been selected. The owner states that the project is in design and they are anticipating a full facility closure November through December 2025 for construction. A timeline for bidding has not been determined. The City of Palm Desert (City) established the Palm Desert Aquatic Center as an amenity for residents and visitors of the City in 2011. The City is now requesting design services to assess and renovate the facility. New technology for filtration and heating systems have become available that would increase energy efficiency and reduce the space needed for pool operations. In addition, the City has identified a need to consider upgrades including new play equipment, an updated splash pool, and an outdoor shower area. The Scope of Services includes the engineering and design required for the future construction of these renovations. City requires the services of a competent engineering consulting firm (Consultant) to provide all professional engineering, aquatic design, and planning services for the development of construction plans and specifications of the Project. The scope of work includes the development of the project documents and studies from conceptual engineering through to final project plans and specifications, preliminary engineering, aquatic, landscape and utility design, plan development and cost estimates. The award of this contract is subject to available budget adequate to carry out the provisions of the proposed Agreement including the identified scope of work.
