Renovation of a water / sewer project in Puyallup, Washington. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
The project includes work to install a third secondary clarifier at the City of Puyallup's Water Pollution Control Plant and associated work, including: 1. Potholing to establish the locations and pipe materials for pipe connections to the new secondary clarifier, 2. Shoring and Groundwater control by ground freezing. 3. Construction of the new secondary clarifier. 4. Installation of a new return activated sludge (RAS) pump. 5. Installation of a new magnetic flow meters on the new RAS pump suction pipe line and the new secondary clarifier effluent line in the effluent pump station/ultraviolet (UV) disinfection structure. 6. Conversion of an existing effluent flow meter facility into a scum pump station. 7. Furnishing and installation of all required piping and appurtenances. 8. Furnishing and installation of all required electrical, instrumentation, and telemetry work. 9. Construction of required site grading and paving. 10. Furnishing and installation of required landscaping. 11. Restoration of surfaces disturbed by construction activities. 12. Providing testing, commissioning, and training as specified herein. 13. Providing all associated work as shown on the Plans and specified herein, for a complete and workable system. 14. Bid Additive 1 to include replacement of the three existing sluice gates in the secondary clarifier splitter box with new stainless steel sluice gates. 15. Bid Additive 2 to include replacement of nine weir troughs in the secondary clarifier splitter box with new stainless steel weir troughs. This includes all associated bypass pumping. All work shall be physically complete within two hundred fifty (250) working days of receiving a Notice to Proceed. Time extensions may be granted for rainfall days that prevent work that is already in progress. The City of Puyallup reserves the right to accept a proposal of the lowest responsible bidder, reject any or all bids, and to waive irregularities in the bid or in the bidding. all bids must be accompanied by a bid bond submitted electronically, using the form supplied in the bid documents. The bid bond shall have a value not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount bid. Financing of the Project has been provided, and payment to the Contractor by regular monthly payments for labor and materials furnished will be by City check. The City expressly reserves the right to reject any and all Bids and to waive minor informalities. The Engineer's estimated range for this project is between $8,000,000 - $8,500,000. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. For technical information, contact Jessica Wilson, jjwilson@puyallupwa.gov. The project requires replacement of all existing VEDs and associated line reactors in MCC 3SA and MCC 3SB. Only one VFD and line reactor may be out ofservice for any type of pump or piece of process equipment at any time. The new secondary clarifier must be in service before the VFD and line reactor on either ofthe two existing secondary clarifiers can be replaced. The bid schedule includes two additive bid items. Additive Bid Item 1 includes replacement ofthe three existing Secondary Clarifier Splitter Box Sluice Gates. Additive Bid Item 2 includes the replacement of all 9 ofthe Secondary Clarifier Splitter Box Weir Troughs. The work associated with the two Additive Bid Items may only occur during the period from July 1 through September 15. Additive Bid Item 2 will require bypass pumping of the entire mixed liquor flow from the aeration basin effluent channel to the secondary clarifier splitter box. Contract Duration- 250 working days until physical completion.
