Summary: The City of Chesapeake is soliciting bids from qualified bidders to establish an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity contract to provide janitorial services for the City of Chesapeake, under the direction of Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department at various City facilities and office locations. Period of Contract: The resulting contract shall be two (2) years from the date of execution with three (3), one (1) year renewal options upon the written mutual agreement of the parties. BACKGROUND: The City of Chesapeake is located in southeastern Virginia. The Environmental Services Division is responsible for maintaining clean, sanitary, and healthy environments for City workers who provide multi-dimensional services, and for Chesapeake citizens who use these services. The division cleans over 1 million square feet of facility spaces on a daily basis, encompassing 150 buildings, including office complexes, libraries, community centers/recreational facilities, police precincts, healthcare facilities, etc. A list of buildings with their approximate square footage of cleaning area in included below this IFB. The buildings date from 1920 to the present. METHOD OF AWARD: The City reserves the right to make an award as a result of this solicitation to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder(s) based on the Grand Total Bid of Section VI and meeting the requirements of the solicitation.
