Site work for a water / sewer project in Sugar Land, Texas. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

SCOPE OF WORK A. Work under this Contract may consist of, but are not necessarily limited to, the following tasks: 1. Mobilize equipment. 2. Remove existing steel cage, pumping equipment, including discharge head, line shaft bowl assembly, column assembly and motor. 3. Perform a pre-cleaning video survey of the entire well and present a report of the findings. a. Total depth of the existing well is approximately 1,200 ft. 4. Wire brush clean the existing well's casing and liner. 5. Jet fill the well and remove debris from the bottom of the well. 6. Perform a post-cleaning CCTV survey of the well and present a report of the findings. a. Total depth of the existing well is approximately 1,200 ft. 7. Furnish and install a new 1500 GPM @ 500-ft TDH well pump: a. New enclosed shaft bowl assembly. b. New discharge head and appurtenances. c. New column assembly with suction pipe and strainer. d. New 2 1/2 " x 1 1/2 " tension bearing with O-rings. e. New 1/4 " stainless steel airline, complete with water level detector kit. f. New 3-gallon oil reservoir complete with immersion heater and lubrication kit. 8. Furnish and install a new 300 HP motor for the existing water well pump. 9. Deep chlorinate the well prior to installation of new pumping equipment, by inserting and agitating 55 gallons of sodium hypochlorite in the well, then remove, neutralize, and dispose of. 10. Install the new well pump and new pump motor, including all appurtenances. 11. Re-install the steel cage and modify as necessary. 12. Start-up and test the well pump and motor. 13. After all new pump, equipment, etc. is installed in the well, a sample of water shall be collected upstream of any chlorine injection in a sterile container on three successive days and a test made of each sample for coliform organisms. The samples shall be taken by and the test made by a laboratory approved by the ENGINEER, and the ENGINEER shall be furnished a copy of the laboratory report prior to completion of the step tests. If any coliform organisms are found present in any sample, the Contractor shall re-sterilize the well and have the water re-sampled as stated above until such time as no coliform organisms are found present in a water sample collected or until such time as the ENGINEER becomes convinced that coliform organisms exist naturally in the waterbearing formation and are not present in water produced from the well as a result of the operations of the Contractor. The Contractor is to provide and complete all requirements as defined within the Contract Documents, as set forth in the detailed Specifications and Instructions herein. All work shall be completed and materials furnished in strict conformity with the Contract Documents The undersigned proposal is to complete the work quoted above on or before 90 Calendar Days for Substantial Completion and 120 Calendar Days for Final Completion after the effective date of the work order. Bond Notes : All proposals shall be accompanied by a Cashier's or Certified Check on a nation or state bank or a Bidder's Bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total maximum bid price, payable without recourse to the Owner, as a guarantee that bidder will enter into a contract and furnish executed Performance and Payment Bonds within ten (10) calendar days after Notice of Award of Contract. The Certified or Cashier's Check, or Bidder's Bond must be enclosed in the same envelope with the bid. Bids without such a Check or Bond are not acceptable and will not be considered. PERFORMANCE, PAYMENT AND MAINTENANCE BONDS Within ten (10) calendar days after written notification of the Award of the Contract, the Contractor shall file with the Owner a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the total contract price, as evidenced by the proposal, from an approved surety company holding a permit from the State of Texas to act as a surety (and acceptable according to the latest list of companies holding a certificate of authority from the Secretary of the Treasury of the United States). The Payment Bond shall be a surety bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price conditioned that the Contractor shall pay all claimants supplying material and labor to it or any subcontractor in the prosecution of the Work provided for in said Contract. Both the Performance Bond and the Payment Bond (without limitation or abrogation of any other provisions contained therein) shall be deemed to have been given pursuant to, Texas Government Code, Chapter 2253 and Texas Insurance Code, Chapter 3503, to the same extent as if said statutes were copied in full in said bonds. LIQUIDATED DAMAGES FOR DELAYS 6.1 It is understood and agreed by and between the parties to this Contract that time is of the essence of the Contract, and that for each calendar day of delay beyond the completion date of the Contract, (unless extended by the Owner) the Contractor shall become obligated to pay to the Owner (as liquidated damages) $1,000for each day of such delay, it being understood between the parties to this Contract that such sum shall be treated as liquidated damages and not as a penalty, and the Owner may withhold from the Contractor's compensation such sums as liquidated damages. The completion date shall be the number of calendar days as stipulated in the Bid. Amounts of liquidated damages are set forth in the Bid. Owner Rights: . Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to accept any bid from any responsible person which will be most advantageous to it and result in the best and most economical completion of the Work. The successful bidder will be required to provide a Performance Bond and Payment Bond in full amount of the contract. The right by the Owner is reserved to reject any bid where an investigation of the evidence or information submitted by such bidder does not satisfy the Owner that the bidder is qualified to properly carry out the terms of the Contract. The right is reserved, as the interest of the Owner may require, to reject any and all bids and to waive any informality in bids received. In general, the Work consists of cleaning the existing well, and replacing the existing well pump and motor at Owner's Water Well No. 4. Owner reserves the right to reject warranties and to limit selections to products with warranties not in conflict with requirements of the Contract Documents.
