Renovation of a detention facility in Munising, Michigan. Completed plans call for the renovation of a detention facility.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION The Department of Corrections is requesting professional architectural/engineering services for the design and construction administration of replacement of the exterior doors and frames on housing units l -6, 100 building, 200 building, 300 building, building 500 and the Guard Posts. There is a total of 50 doors proposed to be replaced. The project also includes the replacement of the existing windows in building 200 in the location detailed on the Site Plan attachment. The project includes the removal and replacement of existing exterior entrance doors, sidelights, and center mullions. New Frames are required to be fully slushed in. Question Deadline 04/02/2024 at 12:00 PM ET via email to Jeff Barsch, barschj@michigan.gov The state reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, in whole or in part, received because of this Request for Proposals. The PSC shall be responsible for gathering and verifying all base information required for proper design, including conditions of existing doorframes and lockset models/manufacturers. Certain doors have been requested to be replaced without the center mullions reinstalled. If there is an opportunity to increase door size by reducing sidelight width the facility would be open to that. Other locations may be considered for widening depending on the width of the existing lintels. Matching of the brick as close as possible to original will be required.
