Site work and new construction of a water / sewer project in Valdez, Alaska. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.
As of August 23, 2024, an engineer has been selected for the project. A firm timeline for construction has not been established. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The range of services includes, but is not limited to: The purpose of this document is to solicit qualifications from professional consultants to provide architectural, engineering, and related professional services for the design of a 30' x 40' wellhouse building and its related amenities, and grounds. The Consultant will be responsible for designing all necessary pumps, piping and appurtenances to connect the existing production well to distribution piping. The new facility will be tied into an existing gravity fed system. No booster or fire pumps will be needed. The Consultant shall conduct design and public meetings, provide information, reports, and drawings necessary to develop the project, monitoring systems and project cost. A 6" exploratory well and a 12" production well were drilled during the summer of 2022. Both wells are located in the southwest corner of Lot 7 Evergreen Vista bordered by city streets W. Pioneer and Whalen Ave. The new wellhouse shall be equipped with the following: o Single story, slab on grade equipped with floor drain, oil/water separator. o 5:12 pitch, concealed fastener metal panel, snow shedding gable or shed style roof. o Steel or standard lumber framed construction, metal siding exterior, interior finished in metal panels. o Extended eve to provide covered storage of 500 AST fuel oil tank. o 6' wide, double leaf man door located on the gable end of building and covered by awning or extended eve. Best brand 7-pin lockset. o Interior hatch/chase framed in above wellhead to facilitate removal/replacement of pump. Detail metal roof panels in that location to be removable to allow for future access. o Emergency generator equipped with day tank, floor mounted fuel piping, load bank and starter battery trickle charge system. o Toyo 30 oil fired heater with ceiling mounted electric unit heater back up. o Sprinkler system with notification system. o Interior electrical shall be surface mount throughout. o Photo cell equipped exterior LED lighting. Interior lighting will be LED. o Interior concrete floor to be trowel finished and coated with a concrete sealer. o Work bench, signage, fire extinguisher. o Interior water piping and air intake/exhaust ducts shall be configured to provide maximum access for maintenance functions and standard operations. o Electrical panels. telemetry and instrumentation shall be configured to provide maximum access for maintenance function and standard operations. o Coordinate with S&B Inc. Systems Specialists for the SCADA, telemetry, instrumentation & control and management reporting system. The project consists of furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, tools, supervision, and other facilities necessary to perform the required services in accordance with the standards and criteria of the City of Valdez standards of the architectural and engineering profession.
