The City of Henderson is soliciting bids for the purchase of asphalt for street paving and related street maintenance services. This work will take place throughout the city on various streets and other city-owned properties. The work involved under this contract is for the paving of various city streets and various other paving-related services. The quantities can vary from year to year; therefore, the City cannot guarantee any certain quantity of work. The streets are located in different sections of the city and any moving around by the contractor, or other perceived inconveniences, shall be included in the base bid price. Because the City does not guarantee any certain amount of work, it will not pay for what the contractor perceives as lost production due to moving around. Purchase of asphalt for street paving and related street maintenance services. This work will take place throughout the city on various streets and other city-owned properties. The City of Henderson reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive irregularities in said bids. Each bidder must execute a bid bond in an amount no less than $2,500.00. This bond may be in the form of cash, cashier's check, or a bond issued by a surety company authorized to do business in the state of Kentucky and made payable to the City of Henderson, or other form approved by the City. The successful bidder must execute a performance bond and a payment bond each in the amount of $50,000.00 issued from a surety company authorized to do business in the state of Kentucky and made payable to the City of Henderson. Upon approval by the City of Henderson Board of Commissioners the successful bidder shall receive a contract effective through March 31, 2025. The contract may be extended for one or two additional one-year (1) periods, if agreed upon by both the City of Henderson and the successful bidder, effective through March 31, 2026 and March 31, 2027 if renewed both years. Annual Paving - The anticipated spring 2024 paving list is attached in Exhibit A, however, it is subject to change. These streets must be paved at least one week prior to June 30, 2024. The proposed FY 2024-2025 paving list is attached in Exhibit B. These streets will be paved between July 1, 2024, and June 30, 2025. The budget numbers include money for milling, patching, paving, striping, crack-sealing, etc. In a typical year, the City normally completes one round of paving in the spring and one round of paving in the fall. The City generally does one end of town in the spring and the other in the fall. The City of Henderson reserves the right to reject any and all bids, and unless otherwise specified by the bidder, to accept any item or group of items in the bid. In case of error in extending the total amount of the bid, the unit price will govern.
