This is to advise pre-qualified contractors that the Invitation for Bids for Project No. 5991A is officially posted on online for your retrieval, review, and response. PRE-QUALIFICATION Prime contractors have been pre-qualified for this Invitation to Bid. Bids shall not be accepted from firms other than those pre-qualified firms on this solicitation. This advertisement is for the sole purpose of identifying this procurement action to potential subcontractors who may wish to participate through the selected prime contractor. The Quincy Pump Station (QPS) located near E. Quincy Ave. and S. Buckley Rd. at Quincy Reservoir takes raw water from Quincy Reservoir and pumps it to the Quincy Intertie Vault (QIV) which then delivers raw water to the Griswold Water Purification Facility (WPF) and in the future, will also be able to pump raw water to the Wemlinger WPF. The Contract Documents require that all work be Substantially Complete by April 30, 2026, with Final Completion by May 31, 2026. Failure to complete the work as prescribed shall be considered as a Breach of Contract and subject to Liquidated Damages which are $1,500.00 per day. Each Bid shall be accompanied by an appropriate guarantee in the form of a Bid Bond in an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the Bid. In addition, the bid guarantee shall be accompanied in the same file as the bid. SBE (10%) The Work of this project consists of improvements to the existing Quincy Pump Station and shall be herein identified as the Quincy Pump Station (QPS) Improvements Project (Project). The Work consists of removal of all existing pumping, electrical, and chemical feed equipment including all associated accessories, appurtenances, valves, and support systems from the existing building. Other items that will be removed include existing building mechanical (HVAC) and select structural and architectural items that will be replaced. New work to be constructed includes a new addition to the building on the west side that will be a slab on grade concrete foundation, masonry wall, and metal roof structure designed to house additional pumps and electrical equipment. New pumps and electrical equipment will be installed in the existing and new building. The existing piping will be modified and extended to support 5 total pumps with sizes as indicated (one 40 hp, one 80 hp, and three 600 hp). All new electrical equipment will be 480 V. The completed building, both new and old portions, will have new HVAC equipment, new architectural features (doors, paint, etc.), repaired structural items (grating, stairs, etc.), and other appurtenances as required. The QPS will receive a new network rack, programmable logic controller, security system, and all equipment to form a complete SCADA system that is compliant with the City of Aurora SCADA Design and Engineering Guidelines (DEGs). The existing site will be regraded to promote better site drainage and all driving surfaces hardened with gravel. Existing air release and vacuum relief valves in the nearby Quincy Intertie Vault and along the pipeline to the Griswold Water Purification Facility will require replacement to accommodate the new pumping system. The Work takes place at the toe of the Quincy Reservoir Dam and will be subject to requirements from the Colorado State Engineer's Office of Dam Safety.
