The initial contract will be effective through June 30, 2026. The City reserves the right to extend the contract for two (2) additional two- (2) year periods. The Project shall consist of the excavation, removal, and land application of approximately 13,000 to 24,000 cubic yards of spent lime per year. The actual volume will be dependent upon the previous year's water production from the City's holding ponds located south of 110th Street and east of Nesbitt Avenue. Land application, for purposes of this Project, is defined as the spreading of the spent lime on farm fields and the incorporation thereof to a minimum depth of four (4) inches. A certified check or cashier's check payable to the City of Bloomington, or satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and a licensed surety company must also accompany the Bid in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total Bid to be forfeited as liquidated damages in the event that the bid be accepted and the Bidder fail to enter into a written contract and furnish the required bond within ten (10) days after the award of the contract.
