Reference Number 0000345823 Purpose of Procurement. The Roaring Frok Transportation Authority (RFTA) is soliciting bids from Contractors to preform Bridge Rehabilitation services on the Roaring Fork Bridge in Carbondale, CO. Submittals must be responsive to this solicitation and criteria defined within this contract. The Roaring Fork Bridge was built in the late 1800's. It is a 5 span timber girder/ 3 span steel plate Girder (Main spans) bridge on timber pile abutments/bents and concrete piers. It is located just outside of Carbondale, CO. This bridge is inspected biannually and during the 2022 inspection cycle, the inspector discovered that pier 3 appears to be tilting toward the channel. Scour at P3 has undermined approximately 15% of the footing area, and several of the anchor bolts on this pier are bent. At the time of the inspection, the anchor bolts were not touching the slotted sole plate, which is likely due to steel contraction during the cold temperatures at the time of the inspection.
