Buyer Preferences, Guidelines & Requirements General Requirements - Insurance Required Bonding Requirements - Performance Bond 50 % PROJECT OVERVIEW Coke Ovens Open Space is located in Redstone, Colorado, and includes approx. 80 acres, which includes flood irrigated agriculture. The agricultural water source is the Beaman Ditch (ditch), which Pitkin County is the only user. The ditch is currently an earthen ditch that supplies a 1.3cfs water right to the Coke Ovens property, with Coal Creek as the source. The project will consist of two phases, head gate replacement and ditch piping. 1. The head gate needs to be replaced and improved to prevent leaking water during periods when the ditch is not operating. 2. There is approximately 700 ft of the Beaman Ditch that runs on the western side of Coal Creek Road that has a history and is at risk of leaking or blowing out during runoff and the irrigation season. We would like to pipe the hazardous sections of this ditch to prevent future damage and hazard to Coal Creek Road. There is an additional 300 ft of the Beaman ditch that is a medium priority to pipe, however depending on project budget, may or may not be installed. The project scope can be broken into two main objectives, preliminary diagrams can be found in Attachment A: Head Gate Replacement: Removal and disposal of the existing head gate, procurement of new head gate infrastructure, and installation of the new head gate. This phase of the project will include working with SGM Engineering and Pitkin County staff throughout the process. Beaman Ditch Improvement: Piping sections of the Beaman Ditch that permits water flow, clean out, and water measurement during the irrigation season. The piped section is engineered to be 18". This project will include procurement and installation of a flume to measure water flow, procurement and installation of approximately 700 ft of piped section, and burying the piped section. This phase of the project will include working with SGM Engineering and Pitkin County staff throughout the process.
