Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Furnace Creek, California. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.
PROJECT NUMBER: CA ERFO NP DEVA 2023 - 3(2) PROJECT NAME: REPAIRS AND ARMORING PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The project is located in Death Valley National Park in Inyo County. Death Valley National Park sustained significant roadway damage park wide due to historic rainfall from Hurricane Hillary. The base schedule consists of pavement patching and armoring on multiple routes, removing and replacing asphalt on harmony borax trail, and roadway reconditioning and placing new culverts on West Side Road. Option X consists of pavement patching and armoring on Emigrant Canyon Road from MP 0.0 to MP 8.0. SCOPE OF THE WORK: This project consists of pavement patching, roadway reconditioning, armoring, sign installation and replacement, and installing new gates on multiple routes throughout the park. Armoring consists of paved shoulders, gabion walls, revet mattresses and a combination of revet mattresses with concrete barrier. The desert tortoise is present along some routes at elevations higher than 2,000 feet. Biological and Archeological monitors will be required for the duration of the project. The contractor will be allowed to set up stand tanks at three locations within the park to collect water. There are limitations to the quantity of water that can be pulled from each source per day. SIGNIFICANT QUANTITIES: Significant items include (quantities are subject to change): Schedule A Removal of Pavement, Asphalt - 2,200 SQYD Revet Mattress, Galvanized or Aluminized Coated - 2,500 SQYD Roadway Reconditioning - 3 Mile Asphalt Concrete Pavement Patch, Type 1 - 7,700 SQYD 24-Inch Pipe Culvert - 100 LNFT Sidewalk, Asphalt - 2,100 LNFT Concrete Barrier - 2,800 LNFT Option X Gabions, Galvanized or Aluminized Coated - 3,500 CUYD Revet Mattress, Galvanized or Aluminized Coated - 650 SQYD Contractor Furnished Gabion Wall Design - LPSM Asphalt Concrete Pavement Patch, Type 1 - 4,500 SQYD Concrete Barrier - 550 LNFT ANTICIPATED SCHEDULE: Advertise: July 2024; Award: August 2024; Construction: August 2024 through February 2025.
