The Village of Belleville plans to remediate the current stormwater concerns on the North end of Vine Street at the West end of the cul-de-sac by installing a drain which will route the water directly to the existing storm structure at the North end of Vine St. Additionally, the bulb of the cul-de-sac will be reconstructed to existing conditions, the existing sidewalk ramp will be brought up to ADA compliance, and the remainder of N. Vine Street will be resurfaced with a mill and overlay. An alternative bid will be to reconstruct the Village parking and access area directly west of the north end of the Vine Street cul-de-sac. The anticipated substantial completion date is September 13, 2024 and the final completion date is September 27, 2024. However work is anticipated to be completed within 6 weeks once work commences at the site. No proposal will be accepted unless accompanied by a certified check or bid bond equal to at least 5% of the amount bid, payable to the Owner as a guarantee that, if the bid is accepted, the bidder will execute and file the proper contract and bond within 15 days after the award of the contract. The certified check or bid bond will be returned to the bidder as soon as the contract is signed, and if after 15 days the bidder shall fail to do so, the certified check or bid bond shall be forfeited to the Owner as liquidated damages. No bidder may withdraw their bid within 60 days after the actual date of the opening thereof. Owner reserves the right to waive any informalities or to reject any or all bids.
