Site work for a water / sewer project in Columbia, South Carolina. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
Within the Cedar Cove and Stoney Point neighborhoods in Chapin SC, each residential service is equipped with a solids interceptor tank (Lets Tank). See the Project Area Map, As-Built Sewer Plans for each neighborhood and section drawing for solids interceptor tank. The project includes accessing each solids interceptor tank, removing lids to allow access to both compartments, measuring tank elevation and water level from established reference point(s), measurement of sludge depth, removal and proper disposal of all liquid and solid material from the tank, allow access to RCU (Richland County Utilities) staff for inspection, replacement of lids, backfill and restoration of disturbed areas. A total of 145, two-compartment solids tanks are expected to require cleaning and inspection. The size of the tanks is expected to be between 1,000 and 1,025 gallons, per available records. RCU has recently completed site inspections at each property, compiled a sketch showing the location of each tank and information regarding site condition. These site reports can be made available to aid in preparation prior to mobilizing to each site. Richland County (RC) is seeking electronic bids from qualified firms to assist its Utilities Department staff by providing pumping and inspection services for solids interceptor tanks.
