The Work consists of: Treatment of the Water Filtration Backwash by adding an outlet into two settling tanks in series and then recycling settled water back to the head of the water treatment plant (WTP). Construction will include installing two 3,500 settling tanks and a 3,500 holding tank. When water is called into WTP a new suction pump will call settled water from the holding tank. The suction pump will limit recycled intake to less than 10% of the plant intake, as permitted in Department of Health design criteria.
