Site work for a playground / park / athletic field in Lac La Biche, Alberta. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.
The objective of the trail refurbishment and drainage improvements is to improve park drainage and add erosion control measures to prevent flooding and damage to trails and infrastructure in the future. Clearing and mulching will be necessary to complete the work. The contractor will be required to exercise caution to minimize removal of trees and vegetation outside of construction limits to perform the work. Ditch grading, culvert installation and erosion control installation will be completed by the Contractor to promote positive drainage at the site locations. Majority of the heavy equipment work is expected to take place during the winter/early spring months prior to the campground being opened. Although the campground may not be open to campers and vehicles there is ongoing pedestrian activity throughout along with cross country skiing along the main access road. Contractor to be always aware of pedestrian safety and have proper signage throughout their work sites. Minor grading works, seeding and deficiency items will be completed once snow has melted and frozen conditions have dissipated. This may extend into the camping season which begins May 17, 2024, safety and awareness of pedestrians and campsite occupants is to be taken into consideration during the camping season.
