As of October 28, 2024, this project is almost ready to enter the design phase. Construction is not anticipated until mid-2026. The contract will support the Harrison & Mercer Transit Access Project (HMTAP) to design a new transit corridor that will be reliable for future transit service along Mercer and between Queen Anne Ave N and 5th Ave N, and Harrison St between 5th Ave N and Fairview Ave N, Fairview Ave N between Harrison St and Republican St, and Republican St between Fairview Ave N and Eastlake Ave N, in order to connect neighborhoods between Uptown and Cascade through South Lake Union (SLU). Questions Due Date: Mar 29th 2024, 4:00 PM PDT The project's major features include but is not limited to; design and implement improvements to support transit service, which will include pavement restoration, bus lanes, re-channelization, signal optimization for buses and transit signal priority, add bus stops, and make urban design improvements to the public realm to facilitate a transit and pedestrian prioritized street. Where transit and urban design improvements are implemented, access to transit and improved safety will be supported within the available budget. he current project budget is approximately $20-30M with a planned opening date in 2028. This project is anticipated to be federally funded in part through the FHWA. This project has a mandatory DBE 20% Goal. Contract type (method of payment) will be Negotiated hourly Rate utilizing WSDOT's Local Agency A & E Professional Services Negotiated Hourly Rate Consultant Agreement, with an anticipated project schedule of June 2024 through June 2027, with the option to extend for additional time and cost. The Consultant awarded will be required to obtain and maintain a City of Seattle Business License. SDOT reserves the right to retain the services of the successful firm for any subsequent phases (PS&E, Construction Management) associated with this project.
