The City of Miramar Public Works Department is inviting qualified Asphalt Contractors to submit quotes to install speed humps on asphalt roads within the City of Miramar. Each hump shall span across 2 lanes of traffic which is 24ft wide. Quote shall include labor, materials, equipment, supervision, insurance, maintenance of traffic, and all incidentals to perform the Work completely. Two (2) humps shall be installed on SW 25th Street. The Successful Contractor shall provide all equipment, labor, and materials necessary to install two (2) traffic calming speed humps. All speed humps shall be installed in two (2) lifts of S3 Asphalt, and tack coat must be applied prior to laying S3 asphalt. One foot (1') solid white thermoplastic arrows must be used to mark the speed humps, and three (3) reflective pavement markers (rpm) on each side facing traffic. All work must be done in strict compliance with the drawings and specifications illustrated below. The installation of four (4) 'Speed Hump Ahead' signs must also be installed based on specifications W17-1 of Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) to be placed within one hundred Feet (100') of approaching the speed hump along with 12 hollow round delineators to be placed, three (3) per side, per speed hump in accordance with the MUTCD Section 3F.01. The delineators must be performance level flexible, white colored with reflective sheeting, and stand at thirty-six inches (36"). They must be installed 1ft from the edge of pavement. The work shall commence ONLY after the contractor has been notified by the Public Works Department but within five (5) business days after receipt of purchase order. The work shall be completed within Forty-Five (45) days from the date of commencement. Work should be done during regular business hours to be following the City of Miramar Noise Ordinance. All questions are due March 18th , 2024 by 5pm shall be submitted in writing to Brittany Parchment at Bjparchment@miramarfl.gov, The City reserves the right to reject any or all quotes, to waive any irregularities in the Solicitation process, and to award or not award a contract based on this solicitation, as deemed in the best interest of the City. There is no site visit However, the respondent may choose to visit the site at their convenience. Description: Please quote a lump sum for the work described herein. Lumpsum should include all labor, materials and overheads required to perform the work. The work shall commence ONLY after the contractor has been notified by the Public Works Department but within five (5) business days after receipt of purchase order. The work shall be completed within Forty-Five (45) days from the date of commencement. Work should be done during regular business hours to be following the City of Miramar Noise Ordinance.
