General work description: The work consists of replacing existing water and/or sanitary sewer lines on several streets. The work includes installing new main line and service connections for both water and sanitary sewer. Two locations require jack and bore with casings. Two locations require either tunneling or jack and bore at the contractor's option. Sheeting and shoring will be required at some locations. Some dewatering is anticipated. Only one location may be worked upon at a time. Due to high lake water levels, the order of work is specified. Work shall be completed within 225 working days. The estimated cost of the base bid work is $5,700,000. The additive alternate work estimated cost is $540,000. Questions about alleged patent ambiguity of the plans, specifications, or estimate must be submitted in writing prior to 5 PM on April 15, 2024. After this time, the City will not consider these questions as bid questions.
