The project is located in the 1200 block of W. 5th Street, extending along Myrtle Street to Villa Avenue, at the site of a future residential housing development. The infrastructure improvements for this project include sanitary sewer, water services, storm sewer, paving patches and sidewalks. Site Directions: 1200 block of W. 5th Street The Notice of Public Hearing will be published in the Sioux City Journal on March 23, 2024 and March 30, 2024 This project shall commence upon receipt of the Notice to Proceed with a late start date of June 3, 2024. Work shall be completed within 50 Working Days. Each bid must be made on a form furnished by the City and must be accompanied by a bid bond, a cashier's check or certified check of an Iowa bank or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States, or a certified share draft drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States, in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid, made payable to the City Treasurer of the City of Sioux City, Iowa. The check or draft may be cashed by the City Treasurer as liquidated damages in the event the successful bidder fails to enter into a contract within the ten (10) days after notice of award and post bond satisfactory to the City ensuring the faithful fulfillment of the contract. However, the City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, re-advertise for new bids and to waive informalities that may be in the best interest of the City. By virtue of statutory authority, a preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the state of Iowa and to Iowa domestic labor. A public hearing will be held before the Sioux City, City Council in the Council Chambers, Room 504, City Hall, 405 Sixth Street, Sioux City, Iowa, on April 1, 2024 commencing at 4:00 P.M., Local Time, on the proposed plans, specifications, form of contract, and estimate of cost in the amount of $801,541.00
