Site work and paving for a road / highway in Wichita Falls, Texas. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

This project is generally described as the rehabilitation of various City asphalt streets, and associated work. The Engineers Estimate of Probable Cost of Construction for this project is $2,200,000.00. General Conditions and General Specifications used in this project are contained in the Public Works Construction Standards - North Central Texas, November 2017. This publication is available through the North Central Texas Council of Governments Regional Information Center, P.O. Box 5888, Arlington, TX 76005-5888 Phone: 817-640-3300. Time is of the essence in the construction of this project. Provisions for liquidated damages are outlined in the Bid proposal form. Bidders will be required to submit a bid security, for not less than 5% of the largest possible bid submitted, with their proposal. Questions received less than five days prior to the date of opening of bids may not be answered. The work covered by this specification consists of removing the curb and gutter in areas designated by the Engineer, shaping and compacting the exposed material and furnishing and placing a new curb and gutter to match existing elevation, shape, type, and size of the remaining curb and gutter and provide positive drainage in accordance with this specification and the details shown on the plans. Repair areas may be adjusted by the Engineer or Engineers Representative to perform necessary curb repairs to facilitate drainage. This specification covers Resilient-Seated Gate Valves in sizes 3" through 12" which conform to features and material specifications of AWWA C509, latest revision, as minimum. The valves shall be bi-directional, non-rising stem with a minimum rated working pressure of 200 psig. Tapping valves which allow 1/2" undersize cutters shall be provided, if specified. All tapping valves shall be designed with an alignment lip per MS SSP-60. The valve operating nut shall be painted black and open in a counter-clockwise direction. The water way shall be full-port. No recesses, insets, etc. shall be allowed in the bottom of the waterway which would allow build-up or collection of residue and debris.
