The Mary Ann Cleveland (MAC) Way Shared-use Path project will consist of the construction of a new off-street walking and biking path that runs adjacent to Mary Ann Cleveland Way, connecting nearby neighborhoods to Empire High school. The ten-foot-wide path will be constructed on the north side of MAC Way and will extend from Houghton Road to Atterbury Wash Way. Inherently the project will also include the construction of ADA Curb Ramps and the construction of several driveway entrances with raised crosswalks for Empire High School. This project is utilizing funds provided by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). Any resulting contact will contain the FHWA required terms and conditions contained herein. Proposals shall be accompanied by a Bid bond issued by a Surety Company authorized to do business in the State of Arizona and acceptable to the City, or by a certified check or cashier's check on a bank doing business in the City of Tucson, payable to the City of Tucson, in an amount equal to at least ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid (including any alternates) as stated in the Proposal, as a guarantee that the Successful Bidder, if awarded the Contract, will promptly enter into a Contract to perform the Work in the manner and form required by the Contract Documents, and will the furnish the required Performance and Payment Bonds. Prior to the execution of the Contract, the successful Bidder will be required to furnish two (2) Bonds, one being the full amount (100%) of the contract price, to be designated the Statutory Performance Bond, conditioned that the Contractor shall fully perform the Contract; and one being in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract price, to be designated the Statutory Payment Bond, conditioned that the Contractor shall pay for all labor and materials used or contracted for in the performance of the Contract. SBE/DBE GOAL: 14.41 % DBE Liquidated damages shall be in the amount of $1000.00 for each calendar day of delay. The City of Tucson project/contract number and project description shall be noted on the certificate of insurance.
