his project will include furnishing all products, equipment, and labor necessary to install +/- 8,800 L.F. of 6 PVC Water Main, +/- 40 L.F. of 6 D.I. Water Main, fire hydrants, water service transfers, valves, plugging and abandonment of existing water mains and all other appurtenances necessary to complete the project in accordance with the Specifications and Drawings. This project will be awarded in one (1) Contract. Time allotted for completion of work is 180 Calendar Days. The Scope of Work as described herein is defined as utility contracting in accordance with O.C.G.A 43-14-2(17) so the Contractor performing the work must provide proof of a valid license by the State of Georgia as a Utility Contractor and must also employ a Utility Manager certification holder who will have oversight of all utility the work. Bids shall be accompanied by a bid bond or certified cashiers check in an amount not less than 10% of the base bid. All bonds shall be by a surety company licensed in Georgia with an A minimum rating of performance and a financial strength of at least five (5) times the contract price as listed in the most current publication of Bests Key Rating Guide Property Liability. Performance and Payment Bonds, each in an amount equal to 100% of the contract price shall be required of the successful bidder if contract is awarded.
