Renovation of a transportation facility in Duluth, Minnesota. Working plans call for the renovation of a transportation facility.

Fire Protection System: Contractor will design and install a new fire protection system to replace the existing dry sprinkler system. This shall include all System piping and related components sprinkler heads, and hangers/hardware necessary to securely affix the pipes to the structure. Water Service Line: The water service line running from the City of Duluth’s water main on W. Michigan St. to the DTA’s building, shall only be included in the scope of work if upsizing of this line is required to ensure adequate water supply for the upgraded system to achieve the EH2 rating. Water service lines that do not supply the existing system are excluded from this project scope of work. Ancillary Systems/related services Fire watch, alarm systems, the fire alarm panel, and any electrical work on existing DTA electrical systems that requires a licensed electrician are excluded from this project’s scope of work. The DTA reserves the right to accept or reject any and/or all Proposals in the best interest of the Authority. Incidental Services, Coordination Thereof: Contractor is responsible for identifying and communicating to the DTA in a timely manner if any needs arise that require the procurement of items or services that are outside the Contractor’s scope of responsibility, or that the Contractor is not licensed to provide. In accordance with the statute, the Contractor shall pay wages to laborers and mechanics at a rate not less than the prevailing wages specified in a wage determination made by the Secretary of Labor. Proposals must be accompanied by a 5% bid bond for the total price of the Proposal. A performance and payment bond is required for Proposals over $175,000, and must comply with Minnesota statutory requirements. The Work to be performed under this Contract shall begin upon “notice to proceed” from the DTA and completed no later than December 31, 2024, unless otherwise terminated as set forth herein Requests for approved equals, clarifications of specifications, and protest of specifications must be received by the Procurement Manager in writing via email (preferred) or regular mail no later than 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 24, 2024.
