Site work and paving for a civil project in Uxbridge, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a bridge / tunnel; and water / sewer project.

The work to be done under this contract consists of furnishing all necessary labor, materials and equipment required for the replacement of the Sutton Street Culvert, and the reconstruction of the roadway. The work includes removing the existing twin 32" corrugated metal pipes (CMP) and replacing it with new twin 48" RCP pipes, cast-in-place concrete wingwalls and headwalls, riprap, control of water, excavation, milling and resurfacing, geometric improvements, stream and wetland restoration and replication, installation of guardrail, signing, pavement markings and the provision of safety controls and signing for construction operations and other incidental items included in the contract documents necessary to complete the Project. Bid Security: Certified, treasurer's or cashier's check or bid bond in the sum of five (5) percent of the Total Bid is required. If the question involves the equality or use of products or methods, it must be accompanied by drawings, specifications or other data in sufficient detail to enable the Engineer to determine the equality or suitability of the product or method. In general, the Engineer will neither approve nor disapprove particular products prior to the opening of Bids; such products will be considered when offered by the Contractor for incorporation into the Work. The Engineer will set forth as Addenda, which shall become a part of the Contract Documents, such questions received as above provided as in his sole judgment are appropriate or necessary and his decision regarding each. At least two (2) days prior to the receipt of Bids, he will send a copy of these Addenda to those prospective bidders known to have taken out sets of the Drawings and other Contract Documents. Attention of bidders is particularly called to the requirements as to conditions of employment to be observed and minimum wage rates to be paid under this Contract as determined by the Department of Labor and Industries under provisions of the Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 149, Section 26-27, inclusive, as amended. No Bidder may withdraw his bid within Ninety (90) days after the actual date of the opening thereof. The successful Bidder must furnish 100 percent Performance and Labor and Materials Bonds. The Owner and Engineer, being considered the sole and only judge, reserves the right to waive any informality in, or to reject, any or all bids, should the Owner deem it to be in the owner's best interest to do 50.
