Renovation of a fire / police facility in Upland, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility.
**As of May 23, 2024, the project was awarded to F.M. Thomas Air Conditioning, Inc., in the amount of $392,326; and approve a construction contingency in the amount of $82,674, for a total amount of $475,000.** The City of Upland is seeking bids from qualified contractors for the removal and replacement of mechanical equipment serving the Police Building. The work to be performed under this Contract generally consists of the removal and replacement of twenty-eight (28) of the twenty-nine (29) HHW and CHW Air Handling Units in the three (3) story Police Station building ranging in size from 1/10 hp, 12,000 btu to 1.5 hp, 146,000 btu. (see existing equipment schedule provided in Appendix "A") All of the existing air handlers are located within the ceiling space of each designated floor with two (2) units serving the basement, fourteen (14) units serving the first floor and twelve (12) units serving the second floor. The existing air handlers are powered by 120v 1O derived from the 120/208 3O Police Station main feed power supply. For increased efficiency, the electrical service for all units to be replaced of 1.0 hp and larger, will be upgraded to 208v 1O electrical service from the existing electrical supply panel. The work also includes removal and reinstallation of the existing T-bar ceiling, removal and re connect of the existing HHW and CHW water feed lines, removal and replacement of any supply air and return air duct work, disconnection and reconnection of electrical feed, installation of new high voltage electrical feed as required, and turn-on, start-up and testing of all new equipment. All removed equipment shall be properly disposed of by the contractor and the completed work site shall be returned to the pre-construction condition in accordance with the Specifications entitled Project No. 82347: PD Air Handler Replacement Project. The location of the work is 1499 W. 13th Street in the City of Upland, San Bernardino County, California.
