The City of Fitchburg, the Awarding Authority, invites sealed bids for the "South Street ELC Roof Replacement", in accordance with the Drawings and Specifications prepared by Gienapp Architects, 20 Conant Street, Danvers, MA 01923, dated March 20, 2024, for all work associated with the installation of a new asphalt bituminous built-up roof system General Contractor must be DCAMM certified in Roofing. A bid deposit of at least five percent (5%) of the total project is required. A Performance Bond and a Labor and Materials Payment Bond, each in the sum of 100% of the Contract Price will be required of the successful Bidder. Project is subject to compliance with prevailing wage requirements. This solicitation is being conducted in accordance with the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 149, and any resulting contract will be strictly awarded in accordance with the requirements of the solicitation. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, including without limitation, nonconforming, nonresponsive, unbalanced, or conditional bids. The City reserves the right to waive all informalities not involving price, time, or changes in the scope of work and to negotiate contract terms with the successful bidder. The following documents depict the limited roof replacement of the South Street Early Learning Center Facility at 376 South Street in Fitchburg. The existing EPDM roof membrane, insulation and underlayment layer of tar & gravel roofing shall be removed down to the existing roof deck structure. The new roof system shall be an asphalt bituminous built-up roof system complete with new flashing at existing penetrations as well as associated edge metal along the roof perimeter. Limited gutter replacement is included as part of Roof C (sloped roof of the existing gymnasium). Also included is repointing of the existing brick chimney at Roof B & C. Limited structural deck infill is included at the existing damaged gypsum deck at area Roof B.
