Work consists of removal of existing bituminous pavement by cold planer, followed by repaving with Class I bituminous pavement. The Contractor shall provide all equipment necessary for cold planing, hauling of all removed materials and cleaning of surface in preparation of pavement. There may be roadways that will require keyways up to three feet wide that will not be cold planed; they will be resurfaced only. Hot bituminous concrete pavement will be placed in the same locations as directed by the DPW Director or Foreman. This pavement shall be machine laid in one top course at one-half (1 1/2) inches in compacted thickness with a leveler only as needed. MassDOT prequalification of contractors with the class of work as Pavement Milling & Construction, Highway Construction for the project with an estimated value of $952,117.02 will be required. Entire project must be completed and invoiced by 9/30/24. Each bidder shall enclose with the bid an acceptable bid bond in the amount of 5% of the bid's value on the form specified. The Town of Leicester reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informalities in bidding and to make the award as appears to the best interests of the Town.
