Reid Middle School Roof Replacement Sub Bid Category Masonry Work under this contract shall begin on or before June 19, 2024 and be fully completed on or before August 23, 2024. Construction Phase A contract is expected to be promptly awarded to the lowest responsible and eligible bidder. The construction phase is expected to commence on or before June 17, 2024 and be completed by September 1, 2024. Construction activity shall be permitted Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Construction activity shall also be permitted on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m Questions concerning this IFB should be directed to the City of Pittsfield Purchasing Agent Last Day for Questions March 27, 2024 at 4:00 p.m Estimated Cost $2,500,000.00 The general scope of the construction work is as follows: Base Bid - Tear Off (Roof Area Nos. 3, 3A, 3B, 4, 4A, 6, 6A & 7) - (38,639+- SF) 1. Re-roofing of the existing low-sloped roofing systems utilizing a "tear-off' application. A new adhered EPDM roof membrane system (60-mil minimum thickness) is specified and detailed complete with a manufacturer's 20-year full system warranty 2. The work also includes: (A) Replace deteriorated wood blocking; (B) Install vent pipe extensions so as to maintain 18" height from finished roof surface; (C) Replace existing drain bowls and replace strainers; (D) Install safety railings at certain rooftop penetrations and designated locations; (E) Install drain markers at all roof drain locations; (F) temporary mechanical disconnects; and (G) temporary electrical disconnects; (H) Remove and replace roof hatch; (I) Install roof hatch safety rail and ladder up safety post at new roof hatch; (J) Install new fixed ladders; (K) Install walkway pads as indicated on the drawings; (L) Repoint 100% brick masonry in area where Roof Area 4 meets Roof Area 6; (M) Install metal fascia extender piece to cover all areas of exposed concrete deck; (N) Install reglet counterflashing at precast concrete panels on Roof Area 4 & Roof Area 6.
