0000266721 Manitoba Transportation & Infrastructure (MTI) instrumented 20 bridges in the Province in 2017 with sensors as part of a Bridge Performance Management System (BPMS) to measure, monitor, analyze and report in real time the condition or state of the bridge. This included reporting on peak sensor measurements, load sharing, overloads and water elevations. The bridges were chosen based on their type, condition, and route location. A period of over six years of data has been collected with information on the loading conditions on the bridges.
MTI requires the continuation of the structural health monitoring of the 20 bridges via a BPMS for a period of 24 months. Purpose and Scope
The Government of Manitoba, as represented by the Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure, requests Bids from qualified Bidders meeting the requirements contained in this Request for Quotations (RFQ) to provide:
Supply and installation of additional sensors
Supply, configuration and installation of data acquisition hardware
Connection and setup of existing and new sensors to the data acquisition hardware at each site
Supply and installation of communication and power supplies
Real time monitoring of all sensors
Setup of web interface and monthly reporting
The Contract shall be for a fixed period of 24 months anticipated to commence in April 2024.
Manitoba reserves the right to extend the Contract for two (2) additional periods of one (1) year each, in its sole discretion. Manitoba reserves the right to reissue the RFQ where, in Manitoba's sole opinion, none of the Bids submitted in response to the RFQ warrant acceptance or where it would not be in the best interests of Manitoba to accept any of the Bids. This assignment shall be completed by March 31, 2027. Official bid documents must be obtained from www.merx.com and bid submissions must be done through the Merx platform.
