Renovation of a mixed-use development in Union City, New Jersey. Completed plans call for the renovation of a swimming pool.
The improvements include, but are not limited to, repairing areas of the swimming pool, replastering the swimming pool, replacing a band of interior pool tile, repairing the perimeter gutter, purchasing and installing chemicals for the pool filling, and installing a new backup sand filter. Alternate Bid 'A' of this project includes the removal and replacement of six (6) 30" starting platforms with a custom logo and the replacement of approximately 120 SF of 6" x 6" pool tile with new 1" x 1" tile. Alternate Bid 'B' of this project includes the brushing and aftercare of the pool for seven (7) days after the pool is filled. All work on this contract must be completed within forty-five (45) calendar days from issuance of a Notice to Proceed. Proposals must be made on the standard proposal forms included with the Contract Documents in the manner designated in the Contract Documents, must be enclosed in sealed envelopes bearing the name and address of the bidder and the name of the project on the outside and be addressed to the City of Union City, and must be accompanied by a statement of consent of surety from a surety company authorized to do business in the State of New Jersey and acceptable to the Owner and either a bid bond or a certified check drawn to the order of City of Union City for not less than ten percent (10%) of the amount bid, except that the check shall not exceed $20,000.00. The successful bidder is hereby notified that a performance bond and labor and material (payment) bond for the full amount of this project is required. The right is also reserved to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities where such informality is not detrimental to the best interest of the Owner, except as to those items which are deemed mandatory and non-waivable set forth in N.J.S.A. 40A:11-23.2. Further, the Owner reserves the right to abandon the project and reject the bids entirely if any legal or state or federal administrative action is taken against the Owner which could delay or jeopardize the project from commencing. The right is also reserved to increase or decrease the quantities specified in the manner designated in the Specifications. Document Note: Contract documents and drawings for the proposed work (the "Contract Documents", which have been prepared by Carl P. O'Brien, P.E., P.P., C.M.E., C.P.W.M., of the firm Colliers Engineering & Design Inc. (DBA Maser Consulting), are available electronically or via delivery by common carrier by making a request to beverly.talmadge@collierseng.com and will be on file at the below date in the City of Union City, City Hall, 3715 Palisade Avenue, Union City, NJ 07087.
