The bid will be awarded to the lowest, qualified bidder at a Bid Award Meeting, 05.06.2024, 5pm. Construction Cost Range: $165,000 - $240,000 *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. resurface 6850 SY roads, including prep work. Contractor will supply and place a tack coat and sufficient asphalt to resurface total square yards (sq. yd.) of paving necessary, including seal coating square yardage. of curbing on *applicable roads* before paving begins. ROAD LENGTH: South Gate Road (Hwy 17 entrance to Patterson Drive) = 2799' ROAD WIDTH: 21' divided road with median (approximately 10' width) TOTAY SY: 6850 SY (including median cuts) Note: This is an estimate; please verify before bid 1. ITEM NO. DESCRIPTION QTY. UNIT 1 Clip Shoulders 11196 LF 2 1-2" Milling 6850 SY 3 6" FDP w/ SCDOTIntermediate C 100 SY 4 1.5" SCDOT Surface C Overlay (175 lbs/sy 600 TNS 5 Back up Shoulders w/import fill 11196 LF 2. Bituminous Tack Coat: The bituminous material shall be asphaltic cement or emulsified asphalt. Acceptable emulsified asphalts shall be among the following: RS-1, MS-2, HFMS-1, SS-1, CDS-1, or CSS-2. The bituminous tack coat shall be applied at a minimum of 0.1 gallons per sq. yd. 3. Asphaltic Concrete: The asphaltic concrete surfacing shall be constructed in accordance with Section 400 of the South Carolina Highway Department Standard Specification for Highway Construction. The asphaltic concrete shall be sand asphalt for leveling and Type III of topping. 4. Thickness: Cover existing pavement with a minimum of 1.5in. in thickness. If contractor fails to meet the thickness specifications, they will be required to resurface the immediate area, maintaining the same slope for water to drain. 5. If additional preparation is required and not covered in the contract, the Contractor must write a change order and have it approved by Dave Buonviri before work is resumed. The area for each portion of the project will be verified by the contractor and differences resolved before work on that portion begins. 6. Road preparation/repairs needed before resurfacing: a. Paving will be done in weather conditions recommended by the Asphalt Institute: temperature is to be at least 50 degrees and rising for re-surfacing. b. Any required repairs to roads will be completed by others before resurfacing begins. c. Soil and grass shall be scraped from the shoulder of the roads and the road surface shall be power-broom cleaned before resurfacing
