Engineer shall provide construction engineering (inspection) services for 2024 Asphalt Corrective Maintenance Program, Miami County a. Engineer shall provide a competent experienced construction inspector/observer for the duration of the project, daily duration at firm's discretion, to observe the work in progress to determine that the project is proceeding in accordance with the contract documents and that the completed work will conform to the contract requirements. The inspector/observer shall have, as a minimum, the following qualifications: 1. Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) Certified Construction Inspector Grade IIAC, 2. Five (5) years progressively responsible experience in bridge construction inspection / observation. 2. Inspection Services shall include: The inspector shall serve as the resident representative of the Miami County Road and Bridge Department during the construction of the project. The inspection shall maintain all required records of the system installation to include locations of facilities, project log, contractor activities, working or calendar days, visitors, and testing. Notification Process: The inspector shall maintain a log of contacts, communications, and complaints of the citizens and the Contractor initiated contacts of citizens during the construction of the project. Reporting: The inspector shall provide a biweekly report to the Project Manager of the progress and anticipated work and shall prepare a monthly pay estimate of completed work. The resident inspector shall record the results of all required testing as specified and provide drafts of all required reports to the County. The inspections will include if applicable, but not limited to; soil proctors, soil and aggregate compaction testing, pile / drilled shaft / subgrade observation and testing, all concrete testing, reinforcing steel observation, traffic control inspection, surfacing observation and testing. 3. Engineer shall provide certificates of insurance for Professional Liability ($1,000,000.00); General Liability ($1,000,000.00); Automobile Liability ($1,000,000.00) and Workers Compensation (Statutory) to the County prior to commencement of services. The county reserves the sole right to renew the said contract for 2024 Asphalt Corrective Maintenance Program-CE, if mutually agreed upon by both parties.
