Renovation of a fire / police facility in Rochester, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 14,911-square-foot fire / police facility.
Reference Number 0000346847 PROJECT ESTIMATE: $4,158,555.00 - General Construction the scope of the work consists of interior and exterior priority improvements and alterations to the existing 14,911 sf +/- single-story, masonry bearing wall and steel framed roof fire station. There is a partial basement under the western portion of the building which contains building mechanical, electrical and plumbing equipment. The building was originally constructed in 1955. The project renovations consists of five apparatus bays, office, lounge and kitchen space, as well as storage, bunk room and bathroom areas for two fire companies. The building also houses space for Battalion Chief Quarters. The building is historically significant and is eligible for listing as a historic building with the NYS Office of Historic Preservation. The project is located on a 0.65 acre parcel of land and includes minor site improvements. The project is being partially funded by the United States Federal Government through the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA) Funds. All associated Federal Requirements for the ARPA funding apply to this contract. The work will be awarded under four (4) separate prime contracts including General Construction (Contract A), Plumbing Construction (Contract B), Mechanical Construction (Contract C) and Electrical Construction (Contract D) work. The City will engage the services of a Construction Manager (CM) as their liaison to oversee construction of the project. This contract contains new requirements for NY State Wicks Law. Participation Requirements - Minority Business Participation - Women-Owned Business Participation General Requirements - Bid Deposit Required - Certified Payroll - Insurance Required - Prevailing Wage Required Bonding Requirements - Bid Bond 5 % - Performance Bond 100 % - Labor and Materials Bond 100 % The Contractor shall complete the work within Three-Hundred Sixty-Five (315) calendar days from the date the Notice to Proceed was issued less the number of days by which one (1) or more of the following submittals are overdue: Completed MWBE forms and Workforce Goals forms required by Subsection SLR 19 and SLR 20 of the Supplementary Laws and Regulations; performance and payment bonds required Article 4.1.2 of the General Terms and Conditions; and certificates of insurance required by Article 4.2 of the General Terms and Conditions, and as revised under the Supplementary Terms and Conditions section. Work items requiring completion within specific # of calendar days from Notice to Proceed and liquidated damages are provided in Article 4 of the Agreement Bonds and Insurance Forms
