Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in Penfield, New York. The Town of Penfield Town Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Town of Penfield Department of Public Works (DPW) Garage will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the demolition of existing structures including the highway garage, pole barn, salt storage building, dome sand/salt storage building, and removal of the existing fueling station and underground storage tanks. The project also includes the construction of a new 73,300 square foot building to house the new DPW facility and ancillary facilities (26 bay vehicle garage, maintenance garage, administration offices, kennel space for Animal Control and an attached open-air lean-to). Construction of a new Salt Storage Building, Sand Storage Building and a Temporary Salt Storage Building with concrete push walls and fabric structures. Construction of a new wood pole barn and construction of a new Fuel Station with two above ground fuel tanks are also included. The project is located at 1607 Jackson Road in the Town of Penfield, New York. Construction of a new pre-engineered Highway Garage/DPW building of approximately 75,000 SF. a new Fuel Station, three new fabric covered storage facilities for salt, sand, and topsoil, and a new pole barn. The new buildings will be located at the current Town DPW site located on Jackson Road in Penfield, NY. The new DPW garage will be a pre-engineered metal building including insulated metal wall/roof panels, storefront doors/windows, partial height reinforced masonry exterior walls, and a shallow foundation system consisting of concrete foundation walls and footings. The new DPW spaces include a main garage (vehicle parking), a maintenance/repair area, an administrative office area, and storage mezzanines. Demolition of the existing storage barns and DPW garage will be required with limited hazmat abatement needed. Site improvements will include asphalt drive areas, concrete walks/pads, grading, oil-water separator, fencing, sub-surface utilities, stormwater structures, and landscaping. This project will be performed under Wicks Law and will require a total of five (5) prime contracts. General Construction shall include architectural and site scope of work. Other primes will include Electrical, Plumbing, Mechanical (HVAC) and Fuel Station Construction. The DPW site will remain owner-occupied throughout the duration of construction and construction phasing will be required. All inquiries pertaining to this project are to be directed to MRB Group, not to the Town of Penfield. Project has an expected duration of 810 days.
