This is a Bridge Preservation Project on Sr 1013, Sec P61, in Luzerne Borough, Luzerne County, in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The Project is Located at an Existing Structure Over Toby Creek on Sr 1013, From Segment 0030 Offset 0000 to Segment 0030 Offset 0533, With a Total Project Length of 383.3 Linear Feet (0.073 Mi). The Proposed Work Consists of Priority 1 Bridge Maintenance Repairs for a Two-span Rc T-beam Bridge Carrying Sr 1013 Over Toby Creek in Luzerne Borough, Luzerne County. Superstructure Work Includes Concrete Deck and Beam Repairs, and Installation of a Deck Joint Seal at the Interface of the Far Abutment and Sidewalk. Substructure Work Includes Concrete Repairs of the Abutments and Pier, Installation of Underpinning Along the Near Abutment and Installation of Rip-rap Scour Protection Along Both Abutments and the Pier. Other Work Includes Replacement of Sidewalk Slabs Along the Eastern Side of the Bridge and Removal of Vegetation From the Near-left Wingwall. No Roadway Approach Work is Anticipated. Staging Will Occur in a Gravel Parking Lot in the Northeast Bridge Quadrant. Access for Substructure Work Will Be a Temporary Access Road/stream Crossing Extending From the Gravel Parking Lot in the Northeast Bridge Quadrant to the Upstream End of Structure. Minor Earth Disturbance for Temporary Access is Proposed. Phased Temporary Stream Diversion Setups Utilizing Cofferdams Will Be Required During Construction. Short-term, Overnight, Single-lane Closures Are Anticipated for Traffic Control.
