Fort Hays State University seeks proposals from qualified testing agencies to perform special testing and inspections on the Bickle Schmidt Athletic Complex project. This project consists of one new 20,000 GSF structure. The new construction is a steel frame building. Foundation system for the new building is spread footings and foundation walls. Structural system is steel frame with metal deck and concrete floor. Roof framing is also steel framing with metal deck. This project is expected to mobilize in late April 2024, with project completion scheduled for late 2025. The general contractor for the project is Paul-Wertenberger Construction Inc., PO Box 1311, Hays, KS 67601. Contact person is Matt Allen, 785-625-8220. Design team members are listed in the project manual. Project documents are currently available on-line at the State of Kansas Department of Design Construction and Compliance web site. Areas of testing include: A. Cast-in-place concrete B. Unit masonry C. Structural steel framing D. Steel decking E. Cold-formed metal framing F. Grading G. Concrete paving
