Description

Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Avon Township, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.

The work for which proposals are invited will consist of, in general, but shall not be limited to, the following: 1,400 ft (0.27 miles) of pavement removal, subgrade improvements, HMA binder and surface course placement, removal and replacement of concrete curb and gutter, removal and replacement of PCC sidewalk, sidewalk intersection improvements for ADA compliance, driveway pavement removal and replacement, landscape restoration, and other associated improvements in accordance with the Contract Plans and Specifications. Bid security in the form of a Bid Bond, Bank Cashier's Check or Certified Check in the amount of ten(10) percent of the total bid made payable to Grant Township shall accompany the bid. State of Illinois, Department of Transportation, Contractor Pre-Qualification and Subcontractor Pre-Qualification/Registration is not required, however, preferred. Question Deadline 04/08/2024 Subcontracting portions of the work will be allowed pursuant to Section 108.01 of the "Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction", Illinois Department of Transportation, latest edition. The Owner reserves the right to reject any Bidder or subcontractor who, in the opinion of the Owner, does not have adequate experience, personnel or equipment to perform the work in a timely, efficient, and satisfactory manner. The work is located at Bluestem Road between W Prairieview Road and Brooks Farm Road in Grant Township, Illinois, Lake County. Submission of a bid shall be conclusive assurance and warrant the bidder has examined the plans and understands all requirements for the performance of the work. The bidder will be responsible for all errors in the proposal resulting from failure or neglect to conduct an in-depth examination. The Township will, in no case, be responsible for any costs, expenses, losses or changes in anticipated profits resulting from such failure or neglect of the bidder. The Contractor shall commence the work to be performed under this contract, 10 days following the execution of the contract. The work shall be prosecuted in such a manner and with such a supply of materials, equipment and labor as considered necessary to ensure its completion according to the time specified in the contract. The anticipated start date for this project is Monday, May 20, 2024. Regardless of the actual start date, all work shall be completed including punch list items and landscape restoration by Friday, July 19, 2024.
