Services to be Provided. The work to be done consists of pavement striping services throughout the City of Vallejo. All Striping shall conform to the current standards of the California Department of Transportation Standard Plans and the California Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices. Work shall include the following: Install Work Site Safety and Traffic Control Measures: Before starting any work, traffic control plans shall be submitted and approved for each requested job. The contractor is responsible for providing all safety measures, including signs, cones, barriers and flaggers in the area of operation to ensure the safety of work personnel and the public. Site Inspection: Inspect areas where repairs are to be performed to ensure all surface bumps or defects are marked with washable paint to delimit the areas to be repaired. Preparation: The roadway surfaces to be striped or marked are to be broomed, swept, or blown to remove dirt, loose stones, or other foreign material prior to any painting operations. Additionally, temperatures and weather shall be taken into account and confirmed within specification for the materials being applied. Striping Measurement: Measurements shall be taken and agreed upon, in writing, by the field inspectors of City and Contractor during pre-job walks. Contractor will maintain records documenting such measurements. Application of Striping: The application of striping shall be agreed upon by the field inspectors of City and Contractor during pre-job walks and comply with City of Vallejo Pavement Painting, Striping, and Marking Standard Specifications. Contractor will maintain records documenting such measurements. Work Site: Contractor shall keep neat, tidy, and passable conditions of the work area during construction and abide by all regulations of the City of Vallejo. It shall be the responsibility of the contractor to repair any damage that is caused by its operation or negligence. Contractor and employees shall park vehicles and equipment in accordance with laws and ordinances of the City of Vallejo so as not to impede the free flow of traffic. Clean Up: All material or garbage shall be picked up by the operation crew and removed from the area at the end of each workday and the conclusion of the project.
