Renovation of a fitness / recreation center in Trail, British Columbia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fitness / recreation center.
The City of Trail owns and operates the Trail Memorial Center located at 1051 Victoria Street. The City is looking to expand on recent upgrades to the facility with further replacements of existing equipment, as well as lay the foundation for energy recovery systems. An existing dehumidifier that serves both the main ice rink and our curling ice rink is at end of life and requires replacement. The project includes replacement of the unit, ducting changes in both areas, and new control strategies. Polar Engineering, in conjunction with the City, has designed and initiated construction of the unit which is in currently in production. The successful proponent will assume control of this unit upon award. Further, The City is looking to undertake ammonia refrigeration plant upgrades. The purpose of this is twofold; to provide heat to a recent ice slab upgrade, and plant the first steps in a larger heat recovery system for the facility.
