Site work, renovation and addition to a medical facility in Trail, British Columbia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a medical facility; for site work for a medical facility; and for the addition of a 5,205-square-foot, one-story above grade medical facility.
IH is issuing this Request for Qualifications to invite responses from interested General Contractors and their Mechanical Sub-Contractor trade partner who are interested in participating in the tender of the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital MRI Project. The scope of this project is to replace the existing mobile MRI scanner with a new MRI scanner and expand the MRI suite in a new LEED Silver building expansion. An area north of the existing Medical Imaging (MI) department, with a footprint of approximately 595 m2, was identified as the most appropriate location for the expansion. This area, being adjacent to the MI department, retains all physical key adjacencies to clinical and support services required by the MRI program. The project scope also includes grading and paving the parking lot in two phases, along with upgrades that include improved site drainage, site security, and electric vehicle parking. To maintain MRI operations during construction the mobile trailer will be re-located to an interim location accessed through a renovated area of the hospital’s administration wing.
