Renovation of a mixed-use development in Trail, British Columbia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
1. Lower Roof (Note 4) Dia 1 Remove existing raised wood roofs. Infill cavities with 38 x 134 wood studs, spaced 400mm on center. Use preservative-treated 19mm plywood, mounted flush with the top of the adjacent roof structure. Match insulation material and depth with the adjacent surfaces. 2. HVAC Replace all existing ducts with new ones. The contractor is responsible for site measurements. Ducts are to be removed during roofing work and reinstalled upon completion. Existing ducts contain 25mm or 50mm of internal acoustic insulation. The contractor must verify inside clear duct dimensions before replacement. Replace duct supports and mount them on corrosion-resistant polypropylene blocks with a closedcell extruded polystyrene base, equivalent to "Quick Block" by "A Better Idea Inc." Ensure duct support spacing complies with current SMACNA standards. New ducts must include 50mm of internal acoustic insulation. 3. Roofing Deck Remove the existing wooden deck. Install a 6' x 6' housekeeping pad outside the service door. 4. Skylights Remove existing skylights and construct new curbs to accommodate replacements. Install new 'Velux' hip ridge skylights with a thermal-broken aluminum frame, thermoplastic inner liner, and prismatic acrylic dome (site measured for exact size). Modify the curb rough opening to fit the new skylight dimensions. Provide an interior painted plywood collar with hardwood edging to conceal the raised and reproportioned opening
