The Atlantic County Stillwater Building Roof Replacement includes replacement of its existing roof. The scope of the work is to include, but is not limited to, the following: 1. Replacement of roughly 20,136sqft. of existing asphalt shingle roofing at the Stillwater Building, including removal of the existing slate shingles and underlayment, and installation of new asphalt shingles. The scope of the work shall also include the removal of the built-up roofing crickets at adjacent to the stair towers at the west side of the building, and replacement with new EPDM roof membrane and insulation. Material shall be as detailed within the technical specifications. 2. Replacement of metal roof edge. The installation of the new metal roof edges shall be coordinated with the recently installed gutters, fascia's and roof rake trim which are scheduled to remain and shall be protected throughout construction. Existing gutters, fascias and roof rake trim scheduled to remain and damaged because of the work of this contract shall be replaced at no additional expense to the Owner. 3. Roofing underlayment have been tested and have been found to be free of asbestos containing materials. Asbestos containing pipe insulation has been identified within the attic space. Care is to be taken to assure that pipe insulation materials are not disturbed during the performance of the work. Copies of test results will be made available upon request. 4. Selective demolition responsibilities included within the scope of the project shall include the following: a. Demolition and removal of all existing slate roofing, underlayment and drip edge. b. Protection and modification of existing flashings and accessories required to remain. c. Removal of existing sealants as delineated and required to accommodate the application of new sealants. d. Removal and relocation of existing electrical systems indicated and required for the performance of the proposed work. The purpose of this project is to replace the Atlantic County Stillwater Building Roof, located at 201 Shore Road, Northfield, NJ 08225. If a bid security is required with the bid, the bidder must upload a copy of the certified check, cashier's check or bid bond in the amount of ten (10%) percent of the total price bid, but not in excess of $20,000.00, payable unconditionally to the County of Atlantic. The original document must be received by the County of Atlantic Purchasing Office no later than 5 business days after the close of bids. The Bidder that is awarded a contract shall, simultaneously with the delivery of the executed contract, submit an executed performance bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the acceptable bid as security for the faithful performance of this contract. The surety on such bond or bonds shall be a duly authorized surety company authorized to issue performance bonds in the State of New Jersey. In the event that a Bidder may have any questions regarding this Bid or the Work, all such questions should be submitted in writing on the Bid Portal Question section of the specific bid Final completion and close out shall occur no later than One Hundred and Thirty-Three (133) consecutive calendar days after issuance of a notice to proceed/execution of the contract. The County will apply liquidated damages of $500 (Five Hundred Dollars) per consecutive calendar day for any contract work that does not comply with the project deadline. The County reserves the right, in its sole judgment and discretion, to award or reject all Add and/or Deduct Alternates, or any combination thereof.
