The Town of Granby requests proposals from qualified firms to provide construction inspection and administrative services to oversee the construction of sidewalks in Salmon Brook Park. Addenda to this RFP will be posted on the Town website. Respondents are responsible for checking the website. Each respondent, by making their proposal, represents that they have read and understand the proposal documents. The Town reserves the right to amend or terminate this RFP, reject any or all proposals, in whole or in part, to award any item, group of items, or total proposal, and to waive informality or technical defects, if it is deemed to be in the best interest of the Town. Disadvantaged, minority, small and women business enterprises are encouraged to apply Description of Services Needed The Town is seeking proposals from qualified firms to provide on-site construction inspections and administration services. The work will include the oversight of a sidewalk construction project with an estimated value of $525,000.00. The selected inspector will be responsible for coordination of construction activities and will be the Town's on-site representative. As the Town's representative, the Town is looking for strong interpersonal skills to communicate with the contractor and town staff. Knowledge of construction methods, materials and techniques is essential for success in this position to ensure the work product is constructed in accordance with plans and specifications, as well as commonly-accepted industry standards. As part of this engagement, the inspector will be responsible for verification of quantities for payment and providing weekly activity summary reports. The inspector will sign off on all requests for payment from the contractor to the Town, prior to the Town issuing payment, and will assist in assuring all necessary paperwork to fulfill the obligation of the STEAP grant is completed. Questions All questions regarding this Request for Proposals shall be submitted via email only to Abby Kenyon, Director of Community Development, akenyon@granby-ct.gov. All questions shall be presented at least electronically by 12:00 p.m. on Friday, April 19, 2024 to allow for the preparation and distribution of addenda. Responses will be posted on the Town's website by 4:00 p.m. on April 23, 2024.
